We see it every year.

New Year’s Resolutions with miles of ambition that wanes in the months after. Why is that?

Part of the reason is that changes in your body take time. Your fitness needs consistent care and attention. Its like brushing your teeth. You can’t do it for a month and expect to fix all the problems and have clean teeth for the rest of your life.

Consider this: Consistent Action Creates Consistent Results.

If you haven’t yet been consistent in your exercise, eating habits, and hydration, now is the time to write it down, schedule the time for it in your calendar, and get it done.

A good base is 2X per week Strength Training and 2X per week Cardio. If you can set this as your base – the thing that you always do, then you won’t have to make a decision every week if you will or won’t do it. You just know its on your calendar, a priority in your life, and you schedule it in with all of your other priorities.
If you want a little extra motivation, I’ve been listening to this free audio book “the 6 Habits of Growth” by Brendon Burchard, available through Audible. If you are an Audible Member, it is free or there is a free trial. Here is the link: The 6 Habits of Growth

The 6 Habits include:

  1. Motivation
  2. Focus
  3. Confidence
  4. Energy
  5. Purpose
  6. Leadership

In each chapter, I have found useful tidbits to apply to my own life and thought there were many ideas and concepts that may help you along the way. I hope you’ll find it a worthwhile listen too.
